Arab Federation of Exchanges Equities Summit 2014, a prestigious platform which gathered 400 delegates in Dubai on 4th & 5th June, 2014 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, DIFC. Wavetec participated as a Gold Sponsor in the event which was hosted by The Arab Federation of Exchanges, in collaboration with partner Thomson Reuters.

CEO, Ahmed Fraz, General Manager – U.A.E, Tobias Bessone, and Technical Director, Shazib Akhtar represented Wavetec at the Summit.

The Summit was an opening invitation to engage the delegates in significant dialogue regarding the trends, challenges, reforms and a global outlook of Stock Exchanges. The summit brought together under one roof, distinguished speakers and panelists, delivering highly useful sessions and highlighting all the relevant issues within the Equities field.

LED Wall of Wavetec was installed for catering the urge for transparency through Information Dissemination Displays at the summit. Moreover, in collaboration with Thomson Reuters, new design for Market Watch Kiosks of Wavetec was also placed at the different corners within the networking area. On our Market Watch Kiosk we used Thomson Reuters’ application Eikon, the strategic solution for Wealth Management professionals. This application is an intuitive user experience that’s flexible and customizable, it helped in gathering all relevant data and information in one single display.

The summit kicked off with an opening speech and note remarks. The opening speech was given by the Secretary General of AFE Dr. Fadi Khalaf, and Samer Habbal, Head of Financial MENA, Thomson Reuters whereas the note remarks were delivered by the Head of AFE and CEO of Tunis Stock Exchange, Mohamed Bichiou and Fathi Ben Grira, CEO of MENACORP.

The aim of the AFE Equities Summit 2014 was to deliver content relevant to Exchanges and all other financial stakeholders. The summit helped in enabling the exchange of experience and knowledge in a unique and dynamic platform with an opportunity to network with the key players within the equities field.
