Job Description
- Providing direct server support during various operations such as deployment and general production
- Collaborating with developers to make sure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices
- Automating deployment of Linux applications, system configurations and security settings
- Troubleshoot problems, involving the appropriate resources and driving resolution of issues with a focus on minimizing impact to our customers
- Drive improvements to processes and design enhancements to automation to continuously improve the production environment
- Identify recurring issues and work with IT & Business partners to remediate using the problem management process
- Automate the provisioning of environments: cooking up some recipes with Ansible, and deploying environments using containers, like Docker
- Participate to the Agile DevOps design, development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features with focus on release and post-production support
Qualification and Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- At least a bachelors in the relevant field
Skills
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
- Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus)
- Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services(experience with AWS/Google Cloud is required)
- A working understanding of code and script
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
