As a landmark move to empower global communities through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Wavetec signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Citizens Foundation (TCF) earlier this month, in accomplishing the TCF vision to provide quality education to under-privileged children of Pakistan, particularly in low resource contexts, through tech integration.

The signing ceremony was attended by several dignitaries from TCF and Wavetec; CEO Wavetec, Ahmed Fraz, Head of Finance, Asif Siddiqi, Head of Products, Muhammad Wasif, Marketing Executive, Zainab Asad, President & CEO TCF, Syed Asaad Ayub Ahmad, Vice President TCF, Riaz Kamlani, Head of Information Technology TCF, Naveed Younus and Technology & Organization Excellence TCF, Ghazala Nadeem.

TCF’s schools operate in urban slums and rural areas across Pakistan, where access to technology is scarce. Their primary goal is to improve the quality of education imparted at these schools. TCF recognises that use of technology is a significant opportunity that can help enhance quality of teaching, learning, and administrative effectiveness. 

Through this partnership, Wavetec will share its capabilities in the technology sphere to assist TCF in capitalizing on this opportunity by enabling students to get access to technical skills on emerging technologies and much-needed industry experience and exposure. Wavetec will be offering guidance and support to help TCF in its goal to integrate technology with education.

Wavetec has been a long-standing supporter of TCF given its mission of serving less privileged communities. Wavetec intends to offer support to TCF in the following ways:

• Guide TCF in developing its technology for education agenda
• Provide advice on all matters relating to technology solutions including hardware choices, software design, procurement and maintenance activities etc.
• Provide staff support to explore possibilities and develop solutions by seconding staff on its payroll to work full-time at TCF or by assigning some Wavetec staff time for specific projects
